Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA / PSA)

Commercial Nuclear Utility Industry
Reactor Safety Study Methods Application Program (RSSMAP), Individual Reliability Evaluation Program (IREP), Individual Plant Examination (IPE) and IPE External Events (EE).

Planned, managed and provided a full range of analytical support for the following IPE studies:

Level 1 Assessments
  • Calvert Cliffs
  • Point Beach
  • Commonwealth Edison
  • Sequoyah (Fire Analysis)
Level 2 Assessments
  • River Bend, Washington NPP-2 IPEEE (Fire)
  • Monticello, Prairie Island, Palisades, Point Beach, Quad Cities, WNP-2 and Indian Point 3 Nuclear Plants. and Sequoyah
  • AP-600 (advanced light water reactor)

Comprehensive Aging Risk Assessment application conducted for Japanese PWRs.

Chemical and Hazardous Waste Industry

  • Performed for more than 30 chemical facilities in Taiwan (Technology Transfer to Taiwan EPA)
  • Applied Risk Analysis Techniques to prevent complex regulatory occurrences (severe monetary fines).

DOE Complex

High Level Safety reviews conducted for Savannah River K reactor PRA.

PRAs for Various Waste retrieval Activities were conducted within the DOE complex (INEEL)

PRA performed and apply to support design and construction of DOE’s Nuclear Waste Vitrification Plant (WTP) at Hanford. WTP will be the first operational nuclear facility to be designed and built to meet specific risk goals. The project required development of new technology to quantify HAZOP findings conducted by 20+ analysts
